2010 WEBBY AWARD OFFICIAL NOMINEE in ART!

In collaboration with the Thomas Cole National Historic Site and Historicus, Inc., Firehaus designed this gallery of the works of Hudson River School founder, Thomas Cole. The combined team of Ruby on Rails developers, database experts and user experience design, (Charles Forcey, Liza Cunningham, and Matthew Latkiewicz) brought to life the vision of the scholars and curators at the Thomas Cole House. This National Endowment for Humanities funded project is an ongoing effort to educate the public about the works, ideas, and artistic process of Thomas Cole. The ExploreArt website was created, with funding from the NEH, to help people explore the art of the Himalayas. Firehaus Studio worked as the design partner to Historicus, Inc. in developing the visual identity of ExploreArt. The Arts of the Islamic World website was created with a goal to become the largest online museum of Islamic works from around the world. Firehaus Studio partnered with Historicus, Inc. as a design partner to develop an intuitive front-end user experience for a dynamically growing collection of work.
